  • School Updates as provided by Lakshmi Tulasi (May 15, 2022)

We have successfully finished our school kids’ annual examinations after covid outbreak. On 30th we completed the annual examinations for the kids upto IX class. On 6th May our X class kids wrote their last exam. This year X class kids wrote only 7 exams as the government reduced the number of exams from 11 to 7 because of covid situations. Most of the kids forgot all the basics, even though we have conducted online classes. So, we faced very tough situations during the examinations. Most of the kids are afraid to write the exams after 3 years. Maybe it will take a couple of years to completely adjust to the pandemic situations. We are expecting the results of X class kids in July. Our school reopens on 6th June for the next academic year. From 16th of this month we will start issuing the uniforms and books for the next academic year.

Following is the letter from Lakshmi Tulasi, Hope for humanity school Principal

From February 1st Government gave permission for conducting classes for all the classes. For 2 weeks they gave permission to conduct the classes for half days. Now from this week we started conducting the classes for full days, i.e., from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. 70 to 80 percent of the kids are attending the school. We are trying to explain each and every parent about the covid protocols followed by our school. We have to take consent from each parent. We had inspection from Mandal Education Offficer  on last Monday, they felt very happy about the arrangements made to the students in our school.

Syllabus reduced to 70 percent and the examination schedule also released. We have to conduct  only one SA exam in May. Several instructions  issued by the Government regarding the examination schedule. For X class students they gave annual examinations dates which are from June 7th, 2021. In these three months I may not be able to conduct the examinations and send the semi annual reports. I will send the annual reports at the end of May,2021. All the kids became very naughty during the lock down period. They forgot the basics also. All the teachers are struggling a lot to put them in a line. At the end of the day, I am getting so many complaints from the teachers. I am hoping that in one month they will be alright, and join in the academic stream.

Regarding our Women empowerment, 32 women enrolled and they finished M.S. Office, 9 joined jobs and the remaining women again joined for Photoshop. The total report and applications are added in the Mega folder. I will send the request for the women empowerment  bill tomorrow.

Please mail me for  further clarifications if any.

    Thanks and regards,
    Lakshmi

  • Hope for Humanity School Status

We hope that you are doing well and staying safe during these difficult times because of Covid-19. I am attaching the letter (below) received from Lakshmi Tulsi Garu from our Hope For Humanity School, Vijayawada.

In the letter, Lakshmi Tulsi provides great detail on how classes are continuing and are being conducted during these unprecedented difficult times, we are facing. As you may be aware, the government of Andhra Pradesh (AP) has made the decision not to conduct final examinations for 10th graders. Final grades for these students will be instead assessed by the AP government based on previous grades received by the students from their respective schools.

I had a brief discussion with Lakshmi Tulsi on June 21. 2020. She noted that  HFH School distributed all available textbooks to most of the current students and the school has begun conducting online classes as detailed in the letter below. The overall attendance for these online courses has improved since they commenced on June 5, 2020. Furthermore, homework for participating students is assigned through a WhatsApp group. Currently, 80% of the students at HFH School are participating in the WhatsApp group to do their homework and that has been a great accomplishment. The school is actively working to increase the number of students participating, for instance, the school is currently in the process of helping some students without access to the necessary technology get it (e.g. cell phones). They are also grouping them with their friends, having cell phones so that they can do their homework.

In preparation for the students to return to the physical classroomLakshmi Tulsi and her staff are diligently working to plan and implement necessary changes to the existing physical classrooms.  Per the AP Government, students will be expected to return to classrooms on August 3, 2020, pending any further announcements from the government. We support the HFH school in all of its efforts to ensure that its students return to a safe environment and at the same time, conducive to higher learning

    Thanks and Regards,
