Hope for Humanity School Status
We hope that you are doing well and staying safe during these difficult times because of Covid-19. I am attaching the letter (below) received from Lakshmi Tulsi Garu from our Hope For Humanity School, Vijayawada.
In the letter, Lakshmi Tulsi provides great detail on how classes are continuing and are being conducted during these unprecedented difficult times, we are facing. As you may be aware, the government of Andhra Pradesh (AP) has made the decision not to conduct final examinations for 10th graders. Final grades for these students will be instead assessed by the AP government based on previous grades received by the students from their respective schools.
I had a brief discussion with Lakshmi Tulsi on June 21. 2020. She noted that HFH School distributed all available textbooks to most of the current students and the school has begun conducting online classes as detailed in the letter below. The overall attendance for these online courses has improved since they commenced on June 5, 2020. Furthermore, homework for participating students is assigned through a WhatsApp group. Currently, 80% of the students at HFH School are participating in the WhatsApp group to do their homework and that has been a great accomplishment. The school is actively working to increase the number of students participating, for instance, the school is currently in the process of helping some students without access to the necessary technology get it (e.g. cell phones). They are also grouping them with their friends, having cell phones so that they can do their homework.
In preparation for the students to return to the physical classroom, Lakshmi Tulsi and her staff are diligently working to plan and implement necessary changes to the existing physical classrooms. Per the AP Government, students will be expected to return to classrooms on August 3, 2020, pending any further announcements from the government. We support the HFH school in all of its efforts to ensure that its students return to a safe environment and at the same time, conducive to higher learning.
Thanks and Regards,

Hope for Humanity Details
I am very happy to inform you that I attended the Hope For Humanity (“HFH”) School anniversary function along with Jayaprada and Dr. Vidya Sagar Nootheti, which was held this year on March 22, 2020. The students at our HFH School have not been only getting a higher quality of education, but also have been learning many extracurricular activities such as Yoga, Karate, music, sports, additional computer skills etc ( please refer to annual reports ) to become a better citizen in this competitive world. I want to give credit to Lakshmi Tulsi along with her staff for making improvements every year to improve the students’ skills. Our sponsored students (254 in total) have been getting the best education at a minimum cost compared to the education offered in many private schools in both Telugu states.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/k2NiR3bu7DTDuBt89We (Jayaprada and I ) have been attending most of HFH School anniversary functions for last seven years. All students and their parents, distinguished local guests and school management are well aware of our generous donors from US and convey their appreciation for sponsoring them to continue their studies at HFH School. We communicate with Principle, Lakshmi Tulsi, teachers, and the management of school during our few months of our stay in India. They also recognize our key founders, Dr. Jaganmohana Rao and Mrs. Krishna Boppana for their dedicated and selfless service to humanity. Their names were always mentioned during the school anniversary functions and highlight the HFH school growth from 20 students in 2009 to 254 students during last 4 years,
I just want to inform you that HFH organization is not only supporting 254 students at HFH school Vijayawada, but also supporting many community projects. We are able to support the humanity because of our generous donors. I am giving highlights of some of the projects, we (HFH) support as given below.
1. Women Empowerment Project at HFH School: Established Koganti Narayana Computer Training Center ( donated by Koganti Venkataratnam, brother of Mrs. Krishna Boppana in memory of their father) in 2013 to train under privileged women in basic skills so that they can find a cashier / data entry jobs at super markets. So far 356 needy women completed courses and 196 got placements. Some of 356 women are continuing for further training in different institutions. This computer Training center is also used every working day to train our senior students to get additional computer skills in addition to their regular classes. We also trained over 200 needy women in tailoring at Hyderabad & Vijayawada during last 11 years and awarded new Sewing machines. Most of them have been earning additional money from home and supporting their families.
2. Abhaya Kshetram, Renigunta near Tirupati: We have been supporting orphans with special needs for last 5 years by sponsoring Nutrition meals for over 200 orphans on special occasions celebrated by donors (birthdays / anniversaries etc.}. We have also sponsored the education of ten orphans in 2019-2020 and continue to to support them in coming years.3. D C Central Kitchen: We prepare meals once a year for 4000 homeless people by taking volunteers to the site to prepare the meals. We also reimburse the cost of the meal. This is done in partnership with Capital Area Telugu Society.
4. We have been packing food for last 5 years enough to feed 10000 people through our volunteers and sponsor the cost of food 100%. The packed food is shipped to African Countries through organizations feedthehungry.org & raiseagainsthunger.org.
5. We have been distributing winter Jackets every year to the needy students in DC metro area schools for last 7 years except one year due to supply problems.
Note: All the above services to the humanity is possible because of our generous donors. God bless every body with good health, happiness and prosperity. -

Abhaya Kshethram Experience
Below is a letter by our President Koteswara Rao on his experience with Abhaya Kshetram during his India Trip in 2020
Dear All,
I believe many of you are aware of Abhaya Kshetram, Renigunta, located near Tirupati. Jayaprada and I visited Abhaya Kshetram on February 23rd, 2020. We spent approximately 3-4 hours visiting with the 200 residents, comprised of orphans of all ages with special needs. Many of them are suffering great challenges, such as mental retardation, visual impairment and old age etc.
It was tough to listen to the stories of the residents, comprised of number children & adults, who were discarded and abandoned by their families and now would be alone in the world, if not for the kindness, compassion and dedication of Dr. Thasleem Sultana.
The residents are housed in five buildings and are well manged by Dr. Sultana who takes care of all of their daily needs, e.g. ensuring nutritious meals on a daily basis, clothes and medications, etc. Dr. Sultana is a Gold medalist in special education from Sri Padmavati Mahita Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupati.
Krishna Garu, Balaji and I have known her for many years and speak to her frequently. She is very much dedicated to serve humanity and is a very simple woman. We consider her to be a Mother Teresa-like individual and is selfless, devoted, and tireless in her devotion to the residents of Abhaya Kshetram. Please visit website, abhayakshetram.org for additional information about the orphanage.
Hope for Humanity has been actively supporting Abhaya Kshetram for the last 4 years by sponsoring birthdays / anniversaries / memorials etc. Our donors have collectively sponsored about 70 birthdays / anniversaries / memorials for their beloved ones in 2019. A sponsorship translates into a nutritious meal, lunch or dinner, to the 200 residents. Our donors donate $100 USD for each celebration. We can also donate Rs. 7000 in the account of Abhaya Kshetram if donors decide to contribute from their accounts in India. I can provide you account information of Abhaya Kshetram in India upon request. Here is the link on Abhaya Kshetram details and forms to donate. (Link)
Hope for Humanity has also been supporting the education of ten orphan students (first grade to intermediate ). This sponsorship began last year, in 2019, due to the generous donations provided by Jaganmohana Rao & Krishna Boppana. Our plan is to increase the number of sponsors from 70 to over 100 by celebrating birthdays / other special events during 2020 year. This will help Abhaya Kshetram financially to manage the needs of the orphan residents during these especially tough times during which India is in lock down status because of Covid-19.
Please see the appeal letter (Link) from Abhaya Kshetram requesting donations. Please note that Abhaya Kshetram does not receive any government funds as noted in their appeal letter as most of orphans do not have Aadhar Cards. Most of them don’t know their birth places and birth dates. Government does not have any provision to help them without the required information as per the law. We started a Coronavirus Fund also with a separate account to help Abhaya Kshetram. We request our donors to sponsor birthdays and other special’ occasions by contributing $100 for each celebration or donate for Coronavirus Fund either in US dollars or Indian rupees. The pictures and video of celebration is sent to each sponsors on the same day of celebration. Additional information will be sent prior to you if you decide to donate to this special cause.
We know that some US families are going through incredibly tough economic times. We debated about making this request to you during these unprecedented, difficult times upon us. However, considering the critical financial situation that Abhaya Kshetram is currently going through, we decided to make an appeal to help the residents there, who are amongst the most needy, helpless, incapacitated people in this world.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you need any further clarifications on whatsup call as I am in Hyderabad, India until middle of May 2020. We hope that you are all doing well and safe.
Regards,
Koteswara Rao Valluripalli
